THE 3RD FLOOR BOARDING HOUSE 2

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE BY SIGNING UP HERE IT'S FREE!!!

This is a continuation of my story "The 3rd floor boarding house". I was not able to include it since it was already a long story.

Anyway, as mentioned, there were 5 rooms in the 3rd floor, one of the room was mine which was located near the stairs.

This happened after the landlord had the 3rd floor baptized. We thought that "uncle" will be gone but we were wrong.

I had a boyfriend that time (let's call him Bryan). It was his rest day and he slept over at my room while I was at work. He slept over because he told me that he will continue to watch the movie that was uploaded on my laptop.

My gay friends used to call my room as a "nursery" because aside from it had so many stickers/designs of Winnie the Pooh, it also had a lot of pillows which had a Winnie the Pooh pillow cases too. My curtains was Pooh, my bed sheet, blanket, name it!. Also, it had a built-in wood closet that was located near the foot of the bed. The wood that was used was clearly an expensive wood and was painted with baby pink. It doesn't have any torn or any sharp edges.

THE 3RD FLOOR BOARDING HOUSE

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE BY SIGNING UP HERE IT'S FREE!!!
I read a lot of your stories and I am just looking for a good timing to share mine. This link is always open and actually bookmarked on my workstation's PC.

This is my first time to write this true to life story so I hope all readers will enjoy.

I am working in a BPO industry (call center) here in Davao City. Since I am not originally from Davao, we looked for a boarding house just a few blocks from the office. I was with my friends that were not Davao-born too. Luckily, we found a boarding house that was just newly built, 3rd floor and has 5 rooms. It was actually a 3rd floor of the owner's house. The first floor was their dining room, small variety store (sari2x store), while at the 2nd floor was their 2-3 rooms.

Our boarding house's entrance was different from the owner's entrance. Their main door was beside the stairs where we used to reach the 3rd floor. So it was a good thing especially for us callcenter agents not to disturb the landlord/landlady because we do not have fixed schedule, we can go in and out even if it is very late at night or dawn.

As mentioned, the 3rd floor has 5 rooms. Me and my 4 friends who are gays, yes, I was the only pure girl. They are gays but not totally cross-dresser. We understood each other because we were on the same province and our language too.

She Walks The Roof

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE BY SIGNING UP HERE IT'S FREE!!!
I wish to share this story told by my mother a couple of months ago. It was one of the nights when my mama is staying up late waiting for my papa to come home. My papa works from 2pm sometimes up until 1am the following day. By the way I work from 2pm until 10pm but I am usually home by 11pm.
My mama cannot sleep unless we are all complete. This one night, my papa was assigned in an operation from his job which requires them to render over time hours of work. It was quarter to 2am already. Mama stayed by the window. The night was peaceful. Until such time that she thought she saw a lady in white gown (seems like a night gown) walking at the top of our neighbor's roof. You see, when looking by the window, all we can see are roofs of our neighbors' houses. She thought that maybe her eyes were just tricking her. But, after many minutes, the apparition was still there walking on the roof.
She found it weird. Who in her sane mind would walk on the roof at the wee hour of the night? But then, she just shrugged and still waited for my papa.
After barely 30 minutes later, my papa arrived.
The next day, when my mama was cleaning our backyard, she heard two of our old neighbors talking to each other. Their topic? It was a lady that was seen walking on the roof at the wee hour of the night for 3 days straight that time. So, when my mama saw that lady it was actually the 3rd day she was seen walking there. Mama, being curious with the topic and by what she saw the other night, joined the conversation. Since Lola Siony's house is nearer to that neighbor's roof where the lady was seen, she clearly saw that it was actually the mother of our neighbor (owner of that house). You think there's nothing wrong with that? I thought so too.
But, the thing is, that neighbor's mother is already bedridden due to terminal illness and they said that they're actually waiting for the time she will be joining our Father in Heaven.

My Father's Hometown

We also lived in my father's hometown at San Carlos City, Pangasinan from 1998-2000. The first house that we move in was demolished in 1998 because the government of Marikina have a project to make a road connecting Marcos Highway and C-5 road. They will build the highway on the riverside and have to remove the houses near the river because of the project. So my parents decided to stay in province shortly.

It was an old modern 2-storeys Spanish style house. Old modern because that was the style of the house after World War 2. Two floors which the first floor was made of stone/cemented and the second floor was made of wood. Spanish style because of the type of window at the second floor which was two sliding window that made of capiz. It was also creepy because of the oldness and the history of the house.
The house was facing east. On front was a vacant lot which also our garage with a big Jackfruit tree. After the vacant lot was the road and the river. The both side of the house were our neighbors' houses. At the back was a vacant lot with lot of trees such as Star fruit tree, Guava tree, a young Santol (cottonfruit) tree, Kamansi (breadnut) tree, Sugar Apple tree, Mango tree, Annatto tree, Plum/jocote tree, and my father and I also planted Banana tree.

The door was placed in the middle so upon entering the door, on your left was the staircase going up and on your right was the living and receiving area. Under the stair was our altar and next to it was a room which my aunt told us that our grandfather had died in that room. That room has no wall to separate the living room and we used curtain as a divider. That room was under the terrace. Near that room was a door connecting to the dining and kitchen. At your left was an old glass shelf used to put our plates and glasses. The right part was the round dining table and next to the shelf was a door connecting outside. Next was the sink with a jar of water then the stove which composed of gas stove on the right and charcoal stove on the left.

Doors And Mirrors

The story I will be telling you are the experiences we had in our house. Our house was built about 30yrs ago.

Four years ago, my parents did a bit of remodeling in the house and also rearranged some furnitures. Since then, we experienced a lot of strange things in the house but the most common are the white shadows. You know, those things that you see in your peripheral vision.

I had a few experiences of these white shadows. Since I only saw a glimpse of them or they just remained at my peripheral vision, I ignore them most of the time. There's no point scaring myself especially if I'm the only one in the room or in the house but I'll tell you the experiences I can never forget.

I was brushing my hair in front of our full body mirror when I saw through the reflection in the mirror a boy in white enter the door behind me and passed by, going to the bathroom. I thought he was one of my brothers (I have 4 brothers), so I ignored him and continued brushing my unruly hair. A few seconds later, my brother came in the door behind me... The same brother who I thought came in a while ago! Turning around, I asked him, "Didn't you just enter a while ago? I thought you came in and went to the CR."

"No," he replied. Apparently, he was outside when he saw someone in white come in and he just followed him inside. I stared at him for a few seconds before I felt goosebumps all over my body.

The next experience was when my brother (the same brother above) and I were watching TV. Our TV is on a table beside the door adjacent the full body mirror. I was sitting on a chair in front of the TV while my brother is sitting on another chair on my left, our open front door behind him. I saw a child in white enter the house through the front door running then went through the other door beside the TV. I looked at my brother and asked, "Who was it? Was it V?" (Let's just call our youngest brother as 'V'.)

"I'm not sure," my brother replied. "I saw two of them. One went to the CR while the other one went upstairs."

After The New Year

This is the first time I've ever written a story. So pardon me if I'm not creative enough for your expectations.

I'm not really sure if this is scary or spooky or creepy for you. This is based on my cousin's recount on what happened while we were having a night out in our vacation home. Let's just call her LA.

Our cousin's house is a two-storey house. On the first floor, just upon entering the door is the living room. Then straight ahead is the kitchen. Separating the two rooms is the stairs which is facing the living room door. On the second floor are two bedrooms, the first one is the computer room which is directly above the living room, and the second one is where my cousins and aunt sleep which is directly above the kitchen. Both rooms have wood flooring so you will really hear when someone's walking above.

It was the night after New Year and we decided to sleep over to one of our cousin's house (let's call him KA). However, he was out with his friends that night. The only people left in the house was our Aunt and the youngest sister, which were already asleep in the second bedroom upstairs. So we set-up a made up bed in the living room and wait for KA to come home. However, I was so groggy at the time because of lack of sleep due to the celebration of the New Year in our house the night before. So I told LA that I will take a nap and just wake me up once KA arrives. My nap turned to sleep and it was so deep that LA had a hard time waking me up.

The horror stories from the Japanese Occupation

To describe the WWII tragedies that befell Filipinos as “creepy” won’t do it justice. Even calling it “horrifying” is an understatement. Without a doubt, the Japanese atrocities in the Philippines showed us how far humans could go in the name of honor and lust for power.

Jintaro Ishida, a Japanese veteran who served in the navy during WWII, once shared how his comrades in the Philippines learned to kill innocent civilians–including women and children–as if they were “just killing insects.” A well in a village somewhere in Lipa, for example, became the final resting place of about 400 Filipinos who were thrown to their deaths. A total of 2,000 people in Calamba were also massacred on February 12, 1945, with the old men strangled to their deaths using a rope because it was “an easier and cheaper way to kill them than with rifles and bullets.”

The Engineering Building

Somewhere in the Philippines, there is this engineering building I've spent most of my college life in. Now, I get to see it twice a week for my part-time teaching classes. During the day, the halls of the building are brimming with life, but at night, when everyone has left the building, the cold, the dark and the quiet that would greet you would send chills down your spine. Through the years I've known the building I've heard of many spooky stories, but for now, I am sharing with you some of my stories - those that I've personally experienced as a student, and as an instructor.

Story Number 1: Candle Scent

https://images.pexels.com/photos/373488/pexels-photo-373488.jpeg?auto=compress&cs=tinysrgb&h=650&w=940We just successfully defended our research paper. Our team aced the defense and we were beyond joyful. Finally, we could release the stress and most importantly, get off of our (then) best corporate get-ups. We loved our outfits but as Engineering students who were about to get dinner and head home, we opted for comfort over style - it was 9PM on a weeknight after all. Since we were all girls, we all went to the same rest room (public with cubicles). There were a lot of chitchat and a lot of laughing and goofing around that we didn't notice we were the only ones left, but since we were "residents" of that building, we paid no attention to the cold and dark, plus we were there so it wasn't quiet. When we were walking down the hallway of the fourth floor, I caught the scent of a burning candle. I tried shrugging it off owing to the fact that there are several Chemical laboratories on the fifth floor and there may be people conducting experiments there, but then, my group mate stopped in her tracks and said, "Can you smell that?" My brain went into overdrive and in a span of two seconds, I have put two and two together - No way should a smell of a burning candle reach the fourth floor at that hour.

The Caretaker

I used to see ghost and other entities since I was a child. But I really don't want them bugging me because I am scared, really scared. But somehow, they don't quit.

Here's the latest...We've just moved in this house last year. Actually, we don't have plans of moving out yet. But my friend keeps on pursuing me to get the next door. It was Nov. 11 of 2007. I already made some arrangements in the house. And of course, I always wanted my room to look cozy as always. We were all tired of unpacking our things. So we decided to go to sleep and finish the task first thing in the morning. I was lying on my bed, half asleep. And when I opened my eyes, I saw a woman wearing white watching me and shouting at me in the face. I was startled and blinked my eyes and then, she's no longer there. I thought of it as a dream. While everybody was fast asleep I was the only one awake.

Another incident was when I was about to go downstairs. I saw this woman going down. I thought it was my friend so I followed her around. But then again...she's gone. The stair is too steep and it has 20 steps and we're like 2 feet away and then she's gone?

The Campus

This series of events happened somewhere in Silang, Cavite, Philippines while I was working there over 5 years ago. The place where I worked is called the Campus by insiders. It has a proper, official-sounding name of course but that is what we all call it. It made us feel, well, insiders. Besides, it's shorter.

In the early 90's, pioneers hacked, hewed and chopped out a clearing in the forest. With only a few army tents as shelters, they started operations of the Campus. It is about 500 meters away from Aguinaldo Highway, across a wooden bridge that spans a narrow creek. Coffee trees line the last 20 meters or so of the road leading to the front (and only) gate. It's not really secluded because there is a small community along the road, and it's only about 20 minutes by car along the highway to Tagaytay and about 10 minutes to Silang Proper going the other way.
When I got there more than a decade later to take up my position as the resident IT guy, the army tents were replaced by concrete buildings with manicured lawns and landscaping. But the same forest still surrounded its three sides, held at bay by a 15-ft wall. It's a pity that the wall could only keep out the trees because it sure let's in other things that I could describe only as supernatural.

For one, there is the lady in white who likes to take a stroll in the garden in the middle of the campus just before or after midnight. I haven't seen her myself during my whole stay but a lot of people did, including one woman whom I really admire for her honesty.

There is another entity which took up residence in the motor pool. They say that this one likes to make noise at night by banging on the steel grills that served as walls on two sides of the building, so I decided to check this one out personally. In the motor pool is an upstairs room with several bunk beds where the mechanics and drivers are housed. I requested from the residents that I stay there for the night, to confirm for myself the existence of the resident poltergeist, and I was made more than welcome.

Unknown Childhood Creature

I was about 13 or 14 years old when I saw it. Up until now, I still don't have any idea what this creature was. If somebody could tell please let me know.

It was summertime and it was warm even at night in Mandaluyong and I remember my family would always keep our windows open at night as we sleep. One evening My mom, sisters and I were sleeping on our banig. I remember all our feet facing the north. We had 3 huge windows. 1 on the north side and 2 west. All the windows are about 4 ft high and about 2 meters wide. All were open and curtains were secured by knots. I was the one facing the north window directly. I also remember we kept our small radio on at night because all of us really loved listening to music. The north window is connected to our neighbhor's roof, so if someone would try to enter our house through the window, you could actually just climb there and walk in.

I remember waking up because I was dreaming about getting bit in the neck by a big insect. I slowly tried to regain the clarity of my sight when I noticed a figure of a man just outside our window. When I saw it clearly I was shocked that until now, 13 years later I can still remember the details. It was squatting outside the window just a few meters away from us as if trying to get his way in, although I can say it was hesitant. It was swaying the curtain with its left arm trying to get it out of its view. It was looking on the ground as if preparing to jump inside the house. I was too scared but I didn't hesitate to show movements to let it know I was awake so as to scare it away or something. The creature actually looked at me and I felt his surprise. His face and body was covered with puss and blood and he has six horns on his forehead. The puss is almost covering his eyes and he seems to be missing a nose. He was wearing torn clothes. He looked straight into my eye and I was deeply scared I just closed my eyes and prayed. I struggled as I recited the Apostles' Creed.

I remember clearly that moments later I opened my eyes and the creature was gone. It was exactly 2 am as I recall hearing the radio announcer giving a time check.

If you have any idea what this creature is, please let me know.

Unforgettable High School Camp

I was a freshman when I attended the High school camping held within our school's premises. It was a night to remember. Saturday, full moon, around 12am, all the lights were turned off and the participants were gathered to the OVAL (open air) to have a campfire and held a mini cheering competition game from different teams. During the competition, one of my classmates, Laila, screamed as loud as she could and then fainted. The cheering squad stopped and we all looked at her. Before she fainted, we noticed that she was pointing her fingers on the third floor. We all looked at the third floor and we all saw a lady wearing a white long gown with a black long hair.

We panicked, others screamed to death. Then, the coordinator announced that no one should panic because maybe it was a whiteboard or something that was blocking the stairway. No one listened. Our teacher decided to turn on the light switch and the white lady was not there anymore. No whiteboard nor blackboard, nothing. It was really impossible for that image to appear.

Monday morning, back to school, everybody was talking about what happened during the campfire. Others couldn't get over it especially Laila who was the first to see the white lady. All of us were really upset. We then realized that it maybe a part of the show. My classmate-Anne and me went to the Science Department and talked to the coordinator about the white lady. She said, "We have no idea about the white lady. The purpose of the Science Camp is to welcome the freshmen, a night to stargaze and a night to enjoy, not to scare the students. Every year, we held Science Camp on this campus and it was also our first time to experience a ghost apparition. The best thing that you can do now is to get over it. Maybe the lady in white is just welcoming you".

I just wish that she didn't welcome us at all because I had a trauma and never went to Sci-Camp again.

A House We Once Rented

Alright, we just moved out from this house so I guess it's time to share the paranormal experiences my family experienced. This house is, well, not that really old. It's more or less 25 years old. It's rented to us and we stayed there for 7 years, and in those years there are some weird stuffs that had been happening.

Let me start when we are just checking out the house before renting it out. When we first came in, this feeling of sadness slammed right into me. I felt sad even though there's no particular reason to be. Also the house is darker than we expected. It was daylight at the time and the house is well-lit inside but it's just darker than usual or, at least that's what me and my dad felt.

I came upstairs checking out my soon-to-be bedroom and the closet caught my eye. Inside the closet the walls are full of writings from what I guessed seemed to be children writings. It was full of random names and a big writing that said "Mamatay na kayo" (Meaning "All of you die" in English). I was, of course, freaked out. I mean, who wouldn't? But I shrugged it off my mind thinking it might be the previous tenants' child that wrote it. Aside from the closet, the room also feels heavy in a way that when you come in it feels like the sadness that you are feeling is getting worse and that you are being watched. After that I came downstairs and we left the house.

Okay so now we moved in. Nothing much happened on the first day, it was all normal aside from that feeling of sadness and the whole house is darker than usual. The second day, however, we are setting the house up, putting items and furniture together. While my mom and my sister went to the market to buy grocery, my dad and I are left in the house to fix the furniture. We would hear stomping on the second floor when there are no one around, banging on walls and slamming of doors. What my dad did is, he yelled "Tama na!" (Meaning "Stop"). It suddenly stopped happening for that day.

Water Dispenser

The story I'm about to tell is of my brother's experience. He worked in Cavite and would stay there and go home during weekends. He said it's very convenient since sometimes they stay until late evening.

One night, he and his friend/coworker were working late and they were both quiet, concentrating on the work at hand. In their workplace, from what he described, they have their own desk, adjacent to each other and there is this water dispenser out the hall. I know I'm not making sense with this description but here's the thing: they can see the water dispenser and hear if its dripping. The water dispenser is the typical one in Philippines where there is this big jug upside down on top of the dispenser.

The water dispenser was dripping and they could hear it but they weren't really paying much attention. It made this monotonous sound and then it would bubble up inside. It had been like this, according to my brother, for at least an hour. Then suddenly, my brother was not able to move and temperature dropped, then a woman was shouting in his face telling him, "Oh ako na ang nagsara ng gripo! Yan ang gusto mo diba? Diba?" (Oh, I turned off the faucet! That's is how you like it, right? Right?) and the woman was mad according to him. Then suddenly he was tapped by his friend and asked if he was alright. Apparently my brother started moaning and his friend got scared so he tried to shake him up.

When my brother told his friend what he experienced, his friend said that the water dispenser making sounds creeped him out because he said earlier that night, he could sense something was not right. They didn't finish what they were doing and went straight home to go to bed.

There are more scary stories my brother would tell us. I'll ask him again for one.

One Last Salute

This story of mine happened when I was about 12 years old. Since the age of seven, my family would always visit my grandparent's over at the province during the summer. It was a much needed break from the life in the city. I was over at my friend's house playing with their dog "Spots". I never had a dog, so I played with Spots every time I was in the province.

My friend's father was a close family friend of ours. He was a highly ranked police officer in the area. As I was told by close relatives later on, he was head of a division to take down the drug cartels in the area. You see, drug cartels are using the mountain areas to plant marijuana within the legal corn fields.

Along with his four cop buddies (which are also his subordinates), they would come over to my grandparent's house every time we were in the area. The four of them are often rowdy, funny and would often single out my friend's father as the topic of their jokes. They affectionately called him "Chief", on account that they respect him more than they respect their real station chief. They have formed a very special bond, since they started in the force about the same time, and have served under my friend's father for six years.

After lunch over at my grandparent's house, they made a quick banter of jokes and got in the jeep to head back to the police station. My friend's father was taking three days off, for health reasons, and went back to their house. My friend and I went with him. We watched TV for about two hours, or so, then my friend dozed off in the couch.

The House In Project 4

I was in sixth grade. We used to move a lot back in those days. I've lived in six different places so far, and what I hated about it was not about leaving friends behind (I went to the same catholic all-girls school and I never made friends with neighbors. Too many dog-eaters and gossips); I hated packing.
Anyway, we lived in a house in project 4. I can't put the entire address here, but it was near Kalantiaw. It was a small house -three tiny bedrooms, one bathroom, and one outhouse, a kitchen next to the dining room, a living room and a veranda. The house also had weird wall carvings. There was one on the veranda wall: a Mindanao scene with Muslim princesses and servants holding umbrellas over their heads and whatnot. Another one in the dining room depicted the Last Supper (hardy har) and another one near the bathroom depicted two tribal urns. We lived there for about two years, and then my mom decided that the house had gotten too small for us, so she decided to rent a house in Pasig instead.

A lot of funny things happened that day. A lot of funny things happened at that house, actually. Once, we had a caterpillar infestation. I guess it doesn't sound all that weird, but our house didn't even have a proper garden. What we had were an old tree stump that held a coconut cup with an orchid in it, clumps of aloe vera and a small patch of caribou grass that passed as our front lawn. The caterpillars were everywhere for days, maybe weeks. Our neighbours didn't have this problem, but we did.

The day we were going to move, the moving truck didn't make it to our house because it had engine trouble. We called out for another truck, which also didn't make it to our house, because of a minor accident en route which involved electrical wires. My dad joked about how someone or something didn't want us to leave.

On moving day, my sister and I were the only ones in the house. My other sisters hated packing and had disappeared before we could ask them to help. Sunny and I were in her bedroom, tying up books in bundles. The bedroom had a window that faced an old, disused shed next to the outhouse. I've never been inside that shed. It was always kept locked. We were almost finished tidying up when we heard noises coming from the shed. It sounded like random things were falling to the ground: plates, pieces of metal, etc. My sister and I looked at each other, scared, and she suggested that we sing a gospel song to drive whatever was making the noise away (I was a Roman Catholic in those days, and so was she. Still is). We started singing, and trying to finish tidying up as fast as we could. I was tying a piece of twine around a bunch of books when we both heard it: someone, or something, was singing along with us, and the voice was coming from the shed. The padlocked, disused shed. The voice sounded amused, and it knew the words to the song. Remember, no one was in the house except me and my sister. My dad was sitting near the gate. My sister and I ran for the door as fast as we could.

After a few hours in the sunshine, I felt brave enough to go back inside and finish cleaning up. I don't know where my sister went; maybe she joined my other sisters. Anyway, I walked back in, broom and dustpan in hand, and walked through the living room to the dining room. The moment I got there, I heard another noise: like somebody was breaking dishes and throwing silverware against the metal sink. I summoned all my courage and peeked into the kitchen. There was nothing there and the sink was empty. I ran back outside and didn't go back in alone.

I've never been back to see the house. Last I heard, somebody had built another floor and was using the house as a rehearsal studio.

I don't know if you believe my story or not, but I have no reason to lie. I'm 25 and I have a kid now, and I'm no longer as starved for attention as I was back in my teen years. Besides, I may have been a lot of things at any point in my life, but I was never a liar.

Cheers.

P.s. If you live/d in project 4, Q.C., Philippines and you think you may know the house I'm talking about, drop me a line.

Hope you liked my story. I have more.

The Headless Soldier

I live in a village in Antipolo. This is where the generals and other high ranking soldiers retire. This happened when I was just around 14 years old.

My friends and I were having camping in an empty lot that night, we love ghost hunting together. Just beside our village is a haunted village wherein only few houses are there and not all are occupied. Inside this village is a long street surrounded by trees and weeds (talahib).
We decided to go there this time. While walking through that street, I saw a white figure behind us. I asked them if they see the white figure behind us, one of them looked back and ran as fast as he could. Surprised and terrified, we ran as well. Outside the village I asked the guy what did he see, he said that the figure I saw is a white lady and already started moving towards us. After that incident we never came back to that same street.

Back at the camp, everyone already started sleeping. I'm the only one who is still awake, I can't sleep. So I decided to go home and check if someone is already awake to open the door for me. I checked the door and peeped inside the house and everyone is still asleep. So I stayed outside and waited for the sun to rise.

Suddenly I felt an urge to look at my right. I saw a soldier (around 100 meters away from me) walking and swaying side to side like a drunken person. It is unusual to see a soldier drunk that still has his uniform on because it's a disgrace to his superior. I wanted to know who the soldier is. I can't see his face!

I blinked to make my sight sharper, and in not more than a second he moved from 100 meters to 70 meters from me. His Body movements were faster this time, his sway had gotten faster. Curious about the soldier I managed to walk closer to the soldier, I still can't see his face... And another blink of my eye, he managed to move around 10 meters away from me.

His body movement is like in a hurry, his sway is even way way faster than before! Then I finally noticed that the soldier I'm trying to see doesn't have a head! I ran back to camp and never looked back! I waited for the sun to rise.

I asked one of the old guys in our village and they said that the village used to be a burial ground way back in the Japanese era. For all we know, Japanese soldiers are known to cut their enemies head off...

Hope you enjoyed my story... Feel free to add comments!

The House On Tres Abril

This story happened when I was 12.

My family lived in Manila, then. And my eldest brother, a civil engineer, frequently goes to Cebu city for a construction project. After a month, he decided to rent a house - I can't remember the exact location - though, it is 15 minutes away by car from the city proper. I do remember that the street on which the house stood was named Tres Abril.

On the summer of 1980, I went to Cebu to attend a National Youth Camp sponsored by our church (we are from a protestant group.) My parents thought it would do me good to get there one week before the camp activities so I could get to visit the beaches, and the historic landmarks in the province. For a whole week, I was to stay with my brother in his house on Tres Abril.

The house was very comfortable and well ventilated. There were even plenty of trees within its compound, and I was seriously contemplating asking my father if I could transfer my studies to Cebu. I was an incoming High School Freshmen, and the change in environment could do me well. So, we went out for lunch, and my father and my older brother treated me to a little tour of the city. When we got home at around 5 in the afternoon, I was tired, and my legs felt like lead. I decided to sleep early. I woke up again at around 9 in the evening to an excruciating tummy ache. It felt like I was being stabbed, and I vomited several times. There was also the splitting head ache. After that, there was the shortness of breath, as if I was running out of air. I had never had an asthma attack, so my father was concerned. I was also crying. Dad said, I was "weeping."

The Faceless Girl

It was the year 1997. I was in first year college and was taking up engineering in one of the state universities here in Manila. For me to get to my school, I have to wait for a PUJ (Public Utility Jeep) along Rizal Avenue with a signage of "Mabini-Harrison Plaza" because that is the only jeep that will pass near our school.

I was waiting for a PUJ around 6:15 AM because I have class in Physics at 7:00 AM. I was not in a hurry so I was waiting for a jeepney that is not full.

As I was waiting, a cab stopped in front of me. The driver was like waiting for a passenger when I noticed a girl at the back part of the cab. I just told myself that they might be waiting for the girl's companion. I hailed a jeepney and went to school. Apparently, the cab that stopped in front of me earlier drove and stopped next to the PUJ I was when we were along C.M. Recto Avenue where there was another stop light. I noticed the girl again and this is the part that freaked me out and made me almost go back home. The girl was FACELESS. I also noticed that the cab driver doesn't know that he has a "passenger" because he keeps on stopping to bystanders and trying his luck for a real passenger.

Let me describe to you the girl. She has shoulder length hair and has no eyes, no ears, no nose, no facial feature whatsoever. Just a black hole where the face should be. Since I was freaked out and I can't go back home anymore, I looked away from the cab then the jeepney drove off. I arrived at school 10 minutes before my class and eventually forgot what happened.

I just want to share this with you guys. I don't know what it was that I encountered. Any inputs would be welcome. Thanks and God Bless.

Onlookers

I have always been a skeptic and a little cynical about ghost stories, regardless of how many experiences I've already had, I simply could not reconcile these experiences to who I am, but here goes.
I live in Davao City and used to work for a call center in Tibungco. For those who are familiar with the area, one must know that this is already very near the boundary of my city and certainly very far from where I live. Shift starts at 3:30am so I usually travel to work at 2:00am to avoid being late. While I was walking down the dark road, I saw an old man and an old woman, what was spectacular about the whole thing was that they were dressed in really old costumes. They definitely looked like they were right out of the pages of a history book.

A simple checkered scarf over a white cotton shirt for the old man and a simple white blouse over a long skirt for the old woman. They sat there in silence under a closed store and looked at me. I didn't expect anyone to be awake and wondered if they were travelers from the mountains. I, trying to be my polite self, greeted them "maayong gabii sa inyo" and stopped to face them. They did not reply and I sensed that they were mildly surprised that I greeted them. They continued looking as I stood there facing them and taking their outfits all in. My eyes traveled to the old woman's feet and realized that she had none. That old woman was floating! Maybe it was because I was getting used to these experiences or maybe because I sensed danger, I immediately said "ayaw mog uban, layo pa akong adtuan, basi mawala mo" which roughly translates to "don't follow me to where I am going, the place where I travel to is far and you might get lost. Then I walked away.

I saw what I saw and sometimes I fear that they will know that I know and I can see them. Unlike others who wish to "see" this is something that I do not want, but sometimes have to deal with. I am sharing this experience just so others believe that indeed, there are still those who stay as onlookers in our time and stay.

Ps: Others will think that I was still sleepy. I was not, after 2 years of having similar shifts, you get used to it. Also, I stared at these figures for a long time to make sure I saw what I saw.
