Poor Richard Gere

Several years ago, “they” say, Mr. Gere was admitted into the emergency room of a Los Angeles hospital with a gerbil lodged in his rectum. Gere was alone when he arrived, some say, or with a partner (e.g., former girlfriend Cindy Crawford) according to others. It took a whole team of surgeons to extract the animal from Gere’s posterior. Some variants say the gerbil was found to have been shaven and declawed; others claim the animal had been placed in a special plastic pouch. And some say the poor creature was Gere’s own beloved pet, aptly named “Tibet.”

In any case, when the surgery was finally done the medical team was sworn to secrecy (unsuccessfully, we must conclude) and Gere went on his merry way, suffering no permanent damage other than to his reputation.

The Tails Doll Curse

Ever played Sonic R? Possibly a small percent of you have heard of the ‘tails doll’. Here is ONE of the stories I have heard of from my close friend.

A man came home from work with a gift for his son. He had picked up a new video game for him, Sonic R. It was a racing game and when he gave his son the gift, he was so excited to get it and play it right away. That night he played the game with his son and they had a great time. A couple of days later the boy was almost finished with the game. His dad was there in his room when he beat the last boss and he roared in excitement when he finially did it. He smiled and asked him how he liked the game as he watched the credits screen. “W-what’s that?” He asked the boy when The Tails Doll appeared on the screen. The boy said it was the Tails Doll, that was all he knew.

He told his son it was time for bed. During the night, the curious father went into the boy’s room and turned on the TV very quietly to play the game for a while himself. He noticed that he now had the option to play as “Tails Doll.” He chose him to tag up with some of the gang.

The game was fun until he tagged him up with Sonic. The screen went black when the game system shut itself down. The man decided it was time for him to go to sleep since he had to work in the morning so he crept out of his son’s room and went to lay in bed with his wife.

At around 2:00am he woke up when he heard thumps on his door. He assumed it was his son getting up to ask him to get him something. He told the boy to “Stop go back to bed.” The thumping kept happening and at one point he noticed a little shadow coming from under the door.

“Tails” kept popping into his head. He got out of bed and slowly opened the door. Then he heard someone say this very softly, “You are coming with me… forever.” It was a doll. An evil, blood-covered, possessed little doll. It was the doll from the game, it had to be.

The Caretaker

I used to see ghost and other entities since I was a child. But I really don't want them bugging me because I am scared, really scared. But somehow, they don't quit.

Here's the latest...We've just moved in this house last year. Actually, we don't have plans of moving out yet. But my friend keeps on pursuing me to get the next door. It was Nov. 11 of 2007. I already made some arrangements in the house. And of course, I always wanted my room to look cozy as always. We were all tired of unpacking our things. So we decided to go to sleep and finish the task first thing in the morning. I was lying on my bed, half asleep. And when I opened my eyes, I saw a woman wearing white watching me and shouting at me in the face. I was startled and blinked my eyes and then, she's no longer there. I thought of it as a dream. While everybody was fast asleep I was the only one awake.

Another incident was when I was about to go downstairs. I saw this woman going down. I thought it was my friend so I followed her around. But then again...she's gone. The stair is too steep and it has 20 steps and we're like 2 feet away and then she's gone?

The Campus

This series of events happened somewhere in Silang, Cavite, Philippines while I was working there over 5 years ago. The place where I worked is called the Campus by insiders. It has a proper, official-sounding name of course but that is what we all call it. It made us feel, well, insiders. Besides, it's shorter.

In the early 90's, pioneers hacked, hewed and chopped out a clearing in the forest. With only a few army tents as shelters, they started operations of the Campus. It is about 500 meters away from Aguinaldo Highway, across a wooden bridge that spans a narrow creek. Coffee trees line the last 20 meters or so of the road leading to the front (and only) gate. It's not really secluded because there is a small community along the road, and it's only about 20 minutes by car along the highway to Tagaytay and about 10 minutes to Silang Proper going the other way.
When I got there more than a decade later to take up my position as the resident IT guy, the army tents were replaced by concrete buildings with manicured lawns and landscaping. But the same forest still surrounded its three sides, held at bay by a 15-ft wall. It's a pity that the wall could only keep out the trees because it sure let's in other things that I could describe only as supernatural.

For one, there is the lady in white who likes to take a stroll in the garden in the middle of the campus just before or after midnight. I haven't seen her myself during my whole stay but a lot of people did, including one woman whom I really admire for her honesty.

There is another entity which took up residence in the motor pool. They say that this one likes to make noise at night by banging on the steel grills that served as walls on two sides of the building, so I decided to check this one out personally. In the motor pool is an upstairs room with several bunk beds where the mechanics and drivers are housed. I requested from the residents that I stay there for the night, to confirm for myself the existence of the resident poltergeist, and I was made more than welcome.
